Limassol’s 5000m2 City Skate Park unveiled in Germasogeia

Limassol welcomes the opening of a new social hub – the City Skate Park in Germasogeia behind the Del Mar!

The new space, a donation to the city, is open to the public starting December 23, with no entrance fee. The visionary concept and realisation of this project stem from Alexey Gubarev, an entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist, together with Anna Gubareva, the founder and CEO of charity organisation City Friends Club.

The City Skate Park, spreading across 5000 square metres, is a fresh cultural space for both children and adults. Carefully planned and equipped, it offers ramps, bowl, pump track – more than 36 elements in total for developing a skateboarder’s skills. City Skate Park is among Europe’s top 10 biggest skateparks. It’s tagged as @city.skate.park on Instagram.

The design meets Olympic standards, considering skateboarding’s inclusion in the Olympic Games in 2020. This is the first professional-level skate park for training and hosting large-scale competitions in Cyprus – something that was much-needed.

Additionally, safety is paramount here: every child must wear a helmet, an uncompromising rule at the park. There’s enough space for both beginners and advanced skaters.

The park was built with an investment of 1.3 million euros.

The City Skate Park is deeply appreciative of the support from Kyriakos Xydias, mayor of Germasogeia and the Germasogeia municipality, whose backing was important in bringing this project to life.
