A new planetarium will be built in the Nicosia district.
It will be the largest not only on the island, but in the entire Eastern Mediterranean.
According to the plans, a distinctive feature of the planetarium will be a bright green spherical dome, which, using digital technologies, will recreate the projection of the starry sky from the inside. Visitors will be able to observe the constellations and various celestial bodies at any time.
The planetarium will have a digital showroom as well as several conference and lecture rooms.
But most importantly, the new planetarium will be equipped with a modern telescope! This will allow the center to function also as an observatory.
The total area of the complex will be about 900 sq. m, the diameter of the planetarium is 20 m. It is expected that the construction will take about 1.5 years.
